About this scholarship
Lund University's selective, merit-based Global Scholarship offers partial or full tuition fee grants (tuition only; living costs are not covered) to top academic students from outside the EU/EEA applying for Lund degree programmes starting in autumn 2027. The scholarship portal is separate from universityadmissions.se and its link is posted on the official page when the round begins; the official page states the round usually opens in February, but exact 2027 dates were not yet published as of 2026-11-01, so no deadline day is claimed in this record.
Minimum requirements
Citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who is required to pay tuition fees; first apply to a Lund University degree programme via universityadmissions.se during the relevant application period, submit a complete application and pay the application fee; select a Lund programme as first choice; upload a Scholarship Motivation Letter of maximum 600 words; selection is merit-based only (financial need is not considered).
Application checklist
- Apply first to a Lund University degree programme via universityadmissions.se during the autumn 2027 application period (16 October 2026 to 15 January 2027), selecting a Lund programme as your first choice, and submit a complete application and pay the application fee.
- Watch the official Lund Global Scholarship page for the scholarship portal link when the February 2027 round opens, and apply for only ONE Lund University Global Scholarship for the programmes selected in that round.
- Prepare a Scholarship Motivation Letter of maximum 600 words, distinct from any statement of purpose required for the programme application, explaining your academic achievements and reasons for choosing Lund.
- Budget for living costs separately: the scholarship covers tuition fees only, and you must show sufficient funds for a Swedish residence permit — check the official page for current requirements.
Application tips
- Do not submit a scholarship application before completing the programme application and fee payment — scholarship eligibility requires the complete programme application first.
- One scholarship application per round only, even if you applied to several Lund programmes; you may still apply for other scholarships such as Swedish Institute scholarships in addition.
- Because the 2027 round dates are unpublished, check the official page in early February 2027 rather than relying on the 2026 closing date (16 February 2026) as a deadline.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
