Uppsala University Global Scholarship 2027 (autumn 2027 Master's)
Uppsala University's Global Scholarship, funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, covers the full tuition fee (not living expenses) for an international Master's programme starting in autumn 2027. It is open to fee-paying citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who rank an eligible Uppsala Master's programme as first priority. - Apply first for an international Master's programme at Uppsala University via University Admissions before its deadline, ranking the Uppsala programme as first priority, and pay the application fee and submit all supporting documents on time.
- When the scholarship period opens on 16 January 2027, submit the Uppsala scholarship application before 1 February 2027, selecting the Global Scholarship.
- Check the official page's restriction list before applying: students admitted to the listed programmes (including joint Nordic and several named Master's programmes) are not eligible for Uppsala scholarships.
- Budget separately for living expenses: the scholarship covers tuition only, and you must still show sufficient funds for a Swedish residence permit — check the official page for current requirements.
Application tips
- First priority is decisive: a Uppsala programme ranked below another university's programme cannot win the Global Scholarship, even with a strong file.
- Do not confuse the two Uppsala scholarships on the same page: the Global Scholarship is for citizens outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, while the Anders Wall Scholarship is a separate award for citizens of African countries — this record is the Global Scholarship only.
- About 2% of applicants are granted a scholarship, so treat this as a reach award and keep other funding routes open.
