About this scholarship
NAWA Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme for full-time second-cycle (master's) studies in Poland for citizens of 36 Polish-Aid countries, in engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences and life sciences, with tuition-free study, a PLN 2,500 monthly scholarship and a preparatory Polish course. The 2027/28 call is expected in spring 2027, so the May 2027 deadline and the benefit figures are previous-cycle ESTIMATEs.
Minimum requirements
Citizens of 36 Polish-Aid countries: Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam. Full-time second-cycle (master's) studies in Polish or English at supervised Polish universities, in the fields of engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences and life sciences. The 2026/27 call required a first-cycle diploma no earlier than 2024, or by 15 July 2026 for that call; the 2027/28 diploma rule will be set in the new call. The 2026/27 call closed 8 May 2026 at 15:00 CEST on the official NAWA page (a secondary source reports 21 June 2026; the NAWA date is used). The next call is expected in spring 2027 for an October start.
Application checklist
- Confirm citizenship of one of the 36 Polish-Aid countries
- Confirm the field is eligible: engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences or life sciences
- Confirm the first-cycle diploma timing against the new call when it publishes (2026/27 call: diploma no earlier than 2024, or by 15 July 2026)
- Choose Polish- or English-taught full-time second-cycle studies at a supervised Polish university
- Watch for the next call opening in spring 2027
Application tips
- Check the 36-country list first — citizenship outside it is a hard exclusion, whatever the field.
- If you plan Polish-taught study, the preparatory Polish course is part of the package; if English-taught, confirm the programme is actually offered in English at your chosen university.
- The 2026/27 call closed 8 May 2026 on the official NAWA page; ignore the secondary 21 June 2026 date if you see it quoted elsewhere.
- Plan for an October start: the call runs in spring for an October start, so degree documents must be ready well before summer.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
