About this scholarship
Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship: a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, books, incidental fees and full residence support for outstanding international students beginning undergraduate study at the University of Toronto in September 2027, awarded only through nomination by the student's secondary school (one student per school).
Minimum requirements
International student (a non-Canadian requiring a study permit); enrolled in the final year of senior secondary school in 2026/2027 or graduated no earlier than June 2026; beginning studies at the University of Toronto in September 2027. Students already attending post-secondary studies, or starting post-secondary studies in January 2027 at U of T or another institution, are not eligible. Nominated by the current secondary school (high schools can nominate only one student per year). Must apply to at least one undergraduate programme at the University of Toronto. The scholarship is tenable only at the University of Toronto for first-entry undergraduate programmes; approximately 37 students are named Pearson Scholars each year. Cycle status at staging: school nomination closed 9 October 2026, U of T admission application closed 16 October 2026, Pearson scholarship application and documents due 6 November 2026 — only already-nominated candidates can still submit.
Application checklist
- Confirm your school is eligible to nominate (one student per school per year)
- Obtain the school nomination (deadline 9 October 2026 — now closed for the 2027 cycle)
- Apply to at least one University of Toronto undergraduate programme (deadline 16 October 2026 — now closed for the 2027 cycle)
- Complete the Pearson Scholarship application via the private link after nomination and admission application
- Submit all required documentation by 6 November 2026
Application tips
- This record is only actionable for already-nominated candidates: the nomination (9 October) and admission (16 October) stages have closed, and only the scholarship form remains open to 6 November 2026.
- Do not use agents: the University of Toronto states the Pearson programme does not work with agencies or educational agents, and recipients can only be nominated by their own secondary school.
- If nominated, the scholarship is restricted to your top-choice programme at the time scholarship decisions are made, even though you may apply to up to three areas.
- Future applicants should start in July, when nomination forms open for previously participating schools — the nomination gate, not the November form, is the binding constraint.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
