About this scholarship
Two-year double-degree Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in European Forestry across seven universities, focused on sustainable forest bioeconomy and resource management, with Erasmus Mundus scholarships for selected students. The call for the August 2027 intake opens in December 2026–January 2027 (exact dates to be announced); the previous call ran 15 December 2025–21 January 2026 for August 2026 entry.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's or comparable degree in forest sciences or a related discipline, plus proof of English language proficiency. Application documents: CV, motivation letter, degree certificate or proof of graduation, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, passport copy and proof of English proficiency. The programme is a joint course-based accredited Erasmus Mundus Joint Master run by seven universities: University of Eastern Finland (coordinator), AgroParisTech (France), University of Freiburg (Germany), University of Lleida (Spain), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (Austria), Transilvania University of Brașov (Romania) and Wageningen University (full partner from 2026). The European Commission awarded the programme Erasmus Mundus status for 2004–2014, 2016–2019, 2019–2023 and 2025–2029, with €4.6 million additional funding announced in August 2025. Graduates receive a joint or double degree depending on the second-year host university.
Application checklist
- Confirm the call window on the consortium site (December 2026–January 2027, exact dates to be announced)
- Prepare a bachelor's or comparable degree in forest sciences or a related discipline
- Prepare proof of English language proficiency
- Prepare CV, motivation letter, degree certificate or proof of graduation, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation and passport copy
- Check the consortium's application portal once the call opens
Application tips
- Do not wait for the exact dates to prepare documents — the call window is December 2026–January 2027 and the document list is already known.
- Note the consortium change: Wageningen University joined as a full partner from 2026, alongside Eastern Finland (coordinator), AgroParisTech, Freiburg, Lleida, Vienna and Brașov.
- This is the 0009 'European Forestry' retry: the earlier drop was a page-fetch refusal (HTTP 403), not a closed programme — the programme holds Erasmus Mundus status for 2025–2029 with fresh European Commission funding.
- Distinguish this joint MSc from single-university European Forestry degrees (for example Mendel University Brno), which are separate programmes.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
