Minimum requirements
Doctoral research in politics, comparative politics, political theory, international relations or sociology, via the EUI application portal. Degree, language and supporting-document requirements are set out on the official EUI application pages - check them before applying, since the fetched programme page does not state them.
Application checklist
- Confirm your research fits politics, comparative politics, political theory, international relations or sociology
- Check the official EUI pages for degree, language and document requirements
- Prepare the research proposal and supporting documents for the EUI portal
- Submit before 14:00 CET on 15 January 2027
- Plan for a 1 September 2027 start in Florence
Application tips
- The 14:00 CET cut-off is strict, so submit a day early rather than in the final hours.
- Do not confuse this SPS doctorate with the EUI Law PhD or the Transnational Governance programme: different departments, different calls.
- Because the grant amount is not on the fetched page, check the EUI funding pages before budgeting.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
