Application checklist

  • Apply for a Cambridge PhD course through the Applicant Portal and complete the funding application section
  • Submit the complete application, including references, by 23:59 GMT on the course's funding deadline (8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027)
  • Check the funding deadline on the exact course page in the postgraduate course directory, since it varies by course
  • check official page for any course-specific additional funding process

Application tips

  • Do not use the general admission deadline: a course may accept applications into spring, but funding consideration ends on the course funding deadline.
  • Confirm which of the two main dates (8 December 2026 or 6 January 2027) applies to the chosen course before arranging references.
  • Note that the Trust does not fund premium courses such as the MBA and MFin, nor a degree at the same or lower level than one already held.
