About this scholarship
Invitation-only fund for outstanding students from low- and low-middle income countries accepted for a Wageningen University master's. There is no direct scholarship application: the board selects from recommended candidates, and the award may be partial or full. Distinct from the Wageningen Africa Scholarship Programme (already in the database as SCH-DB-165).
Minimum requirements
Outstanding students from low- and low-middle income countries (World Bank ranking) accepted for a WUR master's. Prospective students only. The fund does not consider individual applications: selection is by the board with WUR, based on study-coordinator and alumni recommendations, once a year.
Application checklist
- Submit a complete MSc application to Wageningen University before 1 December 2026
- Secure a study-coordinator or alumni recommendation, since the fund does not consider individual applications
- Hold nationality of a low- or low-middle income country (World Bank ranking)
- check official page for the current selection timetable
Application tips
- Do not look for an ABF application form: there is none. The lever is a complete, early MSc application plus a coordinator or alumni recommendation.
- Treat 1 December 2026 as the hard gate for September 2027 consideration, and 1 June as the point after which no offer means non-selection.
- Do not confuse ABF with the Wageningen Africa Scholarship Programme (SCH-DB-165): they are separate awards with separate selection.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
