| Minimum requirements | History, literature and languages (broadly defined, including e.g. music or anthropology where grounded in those disciplines; Literature excludes creative writing; Languages excludes linguistics and requires focus on a language other than English, thesis in English); open to UK and Overseas applicants of all nationalities; students should be resident in the UK for the duration and live within reasonable distance of the host university (except fieldwork/conferences); outstanding academic record, usually first-class honours + Master's in a relevant field; candidates do NOT apply directly. |
