About this scholarship
One-year post-graduation fellowship enabling a Columbia Law School graduate to work in human rights in the United States or abroad.
Minimum requirements
Columbia Law School J.D. or LL.M. graduate (2027 application open solely to the J.D. and LL.M. Classes of 2027 and some Columbia graduates per the official page); commitment to a career in human rights law
Application checklist
- Columbia Law School J.D. or LL.M. Class of 2027 status (or eligible graduate status per application)
- 2027 fellowship application via the Columbia fellowships page
- Proposal for one year of human rights work in the United States or abroad
- Check official application for remaining documents and references
Application tips
- This fellowship is open solely to Columbia Law graduates — external applicants cannot apply, so do not confuse it with the open Human Rights LL.M. Fellowship
- Frame the proposed year around a concrete human-rights placement (academic, governmental, intergovernmental, NGO or practice) rather than a general study plan
- Apply by 21 February 2027 even though graduation is months away; the fellowship year follows graduation
- Check the application for graduate-eligibility details, since some Columbia graduates beyond the Class of 2027 may qualify
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
