About this scholarship
A two-year, 120-ECTS Erasmus Mundus joint master in cybersecurity and assurance, starting with a common first year at NTNU Norway and branching into six second-year specialisations from distributed systems security to cryptography and big data security. Erasmus Mundus scholarships cover tuition, travel and a monthly living allowance, with 25-35 places per year.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT or a related field, 180 ECTS / 3 years, from a recognised institution; English IELTS Academic 6.5 (writing 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 92 (pre-21 January 2026 test) / 4.5 per section (on/after 21 January 2026 test, as rendered on the programme site); motivation video maximum 1 minute and motivation letter maximum 500 words; CV, passport/ID, residency proof, course descriptions, country-specific documents where applicable; two recommendation letters listed as recommended.
Application checklist
- Hold a bachelor's in Computer Science, IT or a related field (180 ECTS / 3 years, recognised institution)
- Evidence English: IELTS Academic 6.5 (writing 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 92 (pre-21 January 2026 test) / 4.5 per section (on/after 21 January 2026 test, as rendered on the programme site)
- Prepare a motivation video (maximum 1 minute) and a motivation letter (maximum 500 words)
- Prepare a CV, passport/ID, residency proof, course descriptions, and country-specific documents where applicable
- Obtain two academic/professional recommendation letters (listed as recommended on the programme site)
- Submit the application during 16 November 2026, 09:00 GMT+1 to 4 January 2027, 23:59 GMT+1, and submit English results by 18 January 2027
Application tips
- Record the 1-minute motivation video early — it is a separate, unusual requirement that cannot be rushed at the deadline.
- Use the programme-site deadline (4 January 2027), not the Aalto period end (5 January 2027): the programme site closes the form on 4 January.
- Plan the mobility: first year at NTNU Norway (57.5 ECTS plus summer school), then a second-year specialisation across Aalto, KTH, TU Graz, DTU, Tartu or EURECOM.
- Do not quote a monthly amount from aggregator sites — the opened official pages do not state one for 2027.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
