About this scholarship
Nanyang Technological University's prestigious, bond-free PhD scholarship for outstanding graduates across all schools, entered here for engineering PhD programmes. It combines full tuition coverage with a monthly stipend, conference and book allowances, and priority campus accommodation for up to four years, and it is awarded by nomination only.
Minimum requirements
Honours (Highest Distinction) or equivalent at bachelor's level; PhD must be pursued at NTU; application by nomination only. In-scope for this staging entry: engineering PhD programmes at NTU. International students must perform Graduate Assistantship Programme teaching or laboratory duties.
Application checklist
- Secure nomination — the scholarship is by nomination only
- Prepare ID, qualifications with translation where applicable, research proposal, two referee reports, resume, publications, and test scores where applicable
- Submit during 1 November 2026 to 31 December 2026 (NIE: 2 November to 30 December 2026)
- Attend interview if shortlisted
- Check official page for Graduate Assistantship duties if you are an international student
Application tips
- Nomination is the gate: contact potential NTU supervisors early, because you cannot simply self-apply without nomination.
- The stipend differs by residency status, so budget on the international rate (SGD 4,300) if you are not a citizen or permanent resident.
- International recipients should expect teaching or laboratory assistantship duties — factor that time into the research plan.
- The 31 December deadline is a hard close, and the NIE window ends a day earlier (30 December) — do not use the wrong school's date.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
