About this scholarship
LUT University's two-part fee support for the 2027 intake: a EUR 5,000 early bird discount for fee-paying students who accept quickly and pay the remaining EUR 10,000 within 21 days, plus a separate EUR 5,000 second-year scholarship based on study progress. LUT's rolling admission runs to 31 March 2027, but places are processed while available, so early application matters.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree in the same or a closely related field, required prior studies completed, minimum GPA requirement met, and English language proficiency met (IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 92, new TOEFL iBT 4.5, PTE Academic 68, Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency pass, or YKI level 5; degree taught in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States exempts the test). EU/EEA and Swiss citizens and holders of certain Finnish residence permits are exempt from tuition fees and therefore from this fee-paying award.
Application checklist
- Choose one LUT master's programme in technology, business administration, or social and communication sciences (rolling admission allows one programme only)
- Complete the programme application form on the LUT rolling admission website and upload all required documents
- Pay the national application fee of EUR 100 (non-EU/EEA applicants, one-time, covers many Finnish universities)
- If admitted, accept the place and pay the remaining EUR 10,000 within 21 days of the admission email to secure the early bird discount
- Graduate and submit final graduation documents by 31 July (if applying before graduation)
- Attend Orientation Days in late August
Application tips
- The 21-day payment window is the whole early-bird game — have funds ready before the admission email arrives, because tuition cannot be paid in instalments.
- Apply to only one LUT programme in rolling admission, so choose the technology programme carefully rather than hedging across several.
- Second-year money is earned, not automatic: it depends on progress in studies, so plan first-year credits accordingly.
- The EUR 100 national fee is a one-time payment covering many Finnish universities, so it is not a LUT-only cost.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
