About this scholarship
Eindhoven University of Technology's microchip-innovation excellence scholarship for 2027-2028, funded by the national Beethoven Program. It targets the semiconductor talent pipeline across physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and mathematics/computer science, and it is explicit that the award is not a full scholarship.
Minimum requirements
Applicant to an eligible TU/e master's programme in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics & Computer Science departments, including Applied Physics, AI and Engineering Systems, Automotive Technology, Computer Science and Engineering (Cybersecurity, Systems and AI tracks), Data Science and AI, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace Systems track), Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion, Sustainable Energy Technology, and Systems and Control. GPA of at least 7.5/10. First-year progress of at least 45 ECTS required for the second year.
Application checklist
- Apply for an eligible TU/e master's programme in one of the four eligible departments
- Evidence a GPA of at least 7.5/10
- Submit the scholarship application by 1 January 2027, 23:59 CET
- Plan to earn at least 45 ECTS in year one to keep the second year
Application tips
- Check your programme against the eligible list first — several TU/e master's programmes are not covered, and the list is track-specific in places (for example, only the Aerospace Systems track of Mechanical Engineering).
- The 2% success figure means this is a reach award: apply, but do not make it your only funding plan.
- Budget beyond EUR 7,500 per year — the page is explicit that this is not a full scholarship.
- Protect year two early: 45 ECTS in year one is a hard continuation bar.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
