University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) (MSc, Netherlands)
The University of Twente's main excellence scholarship for non-EU/EEA master's students across its engineering and technology programmes. It compensates study-related costs rather than paying tuition directly, and it is the gateway award for the Kipaji Scholarship (W1-008).
| Amount / funding | Compensation for study-related costs of EUR 3,000 to EUR 22,000 for one year; explicitly not a full scholarship and not paid as tuition on behalf of the student. A second-year additional UTS is possible if process requirements are met. Amount range is secondary-reported; the official UTS page confirms the award structure and results timing but the fetched text did not state the amount range. |

About this scholarship
The University of Twente's main excellence scholarship for non-EU/EEA master's students across its engineering and technology programmes. It compensates study-related costs rather than paying tuition directly, and it is the gateway award for the Kipaji Scholarship (W1-008).
Minimum requirements
Excellent student from a non-EU/EEA country applying for a University of Twente graduate (MSc) programme. Not available for Dutch, EU/EEA or current UT students, pre-master students, ITC Faculty programmes, or students paying the statutory fee.
Application checklist
- Apply for a University of Twente MSc programme (excluding ITC Faculty programmes, pre-master and statutory-fee routes)
- Submit the UTS application form between 15 October 2026 and 1 April 2027, 16:00 CET
- Indicate interest in the Kipaji Scholarship in your motivation if applicable (see W1-008)
- Check official page for the exact motivation and document requirements
Application tips
- Apply for UTS even if you also want Kipaji — Kipaji can only be awarded to UTS recipients, so UTS is the mandatory first step.
- Do not assume the award covers tuition: it compensates study-related costs, so check how it is paid before budgeting.
- ITC Faculty programmes are excluded from UTS — ITC applicants should use the ITC Excellence route (W1-009) instead.
- Results come in the first week of May 2027, so keep your funding plan flexible until then.
Always verify deadline, amount and eligibility on the official page before applying. Values marked ESTIMATE are based on a previous cycle and are not confirmed for the current round.
